“The greatest Christmas present I’ve ever got was seeing my Shrek 3 Trailer on television yesterday. Nothing on earth can beat that feeling of pure excitement and joy. Not even crack I suppose.”—On Christmas Eve me and my family were waiting for it to get aired while preparing dinner. The anicipation and then seeing it made me feel like a child waiting for Santa to bring presents. Seeing my parents so proud of me was one of the best moments in my entire life. I’m sure I’ll always remember that moment.
How fucking epic was the finale of Merlin? I can’t get over it. All the slow-mo fight scenes, the fun, the angst. It was simply perfect. Well, almost.
My dear Merlin writers: I’ve been waiting for the magical reveal since season one episode one and a lot of other fans have been waiting patiently, too. Arthur trusts Merlin. Arthur’s grown up. He’ll understand. He’s ready for the reveal. Please make it happen. I beg you.
Now to the good points of the episode: I loved that Merlin totally made up the story with the Excalibur in the stone to make Arthur feel more confident. I loled my way throught the whole scene… Of course it first reminded me of this: http://youtu.be/68aEbFiCB00
Which made me grin even more… (Damn it, Supernatural! You ruined me for life!)
How am I supposed to survive a whole year without a new episode?
By the way. When Morgana was saved by the baby dragon I was so like “Merlin is a DRAGONLORD. It is SO obvious that he ordered it!” (Fanfiction? Anyone?)
I should really stop shipping them. It’s hopless. It’ll be the end of me.
“That totally incredible feeling when your trailer gets aired on nationwide television!”—I haven’t seen it myself, but I got a phone call from my mom yesterday and she told me, that she saw it. If you’re able to watch “ProSieben” keep your eyes open for the Shrek 3 Trailer. That’s the one I made. :-)
E.R.: What made you interested in collaborating with Kripke?
J.J.A.: I’ve been a fan of “Supernatural.” I like him a lot. He’s a really good guy, and he came to us with an idea that was undeniably good. It was such a great premise for a series that it was just that feeling of the misery that you’d feel if you had a chance to be part of that and didn’t take advantage of it. I’m really looking forward to that show. He’s so obviously the real deal, and we’re just really lucky and honored that he wanted to collaborate with us on it.

So I just watched episode 9 of Merlin and I really can not understand why so many fans here on tumblr complain about it. I thought it was perfect. In every single way.
We all expected (or at least knew from the legend) that Arthur and Gwen didn’t have a Disney fairytale ending. I understand that a lot of fans might have hoped it would end differently since the show isn’t exactly what I would call ‘historically accurate’. (Well, far from it to be honest but let’s face it - it’s a FANTASY show for CHILDREN about a SOURCERER and MAGIC! LOL) I really enjoyed the drama and the debth of the episode because they rarely show such angsty storylines about “adultery” on shows that are intended for kids so I salute to the Merlin writers for pulling that off so brilliantly and still being suitable for the younger audiences. In my opinion it had the right mixture of heartbreak and drama and the performances of all - Bradley, Angel, Colin, Katie, Santiago - were at their best.
Honestly, I was really excited that Angel could show us something of her real talent. She normally has so very few opportunties to do something other than her brave/righteous character on the show. So I was absolutely pleased to see her act differently and out of her routine and comfort zone. No one - not even the Arwen shippers - can deny that she has an amazing chemistry with Santiago Cabrera and both played it brilliantly. I love to see both of them kissing on screen even though I definitely prefer Arwen. Which brings me to Bradley. It absolutely broke my heart to see how well he pulled off the feeling of heartbreak and betrayal. It almost physically hurt and I didn’t think for a moment that it was out of character. How would you feel and react if the love of your life cheated on you? Gwen can be greatful that he’s not like his father (or like me LOL - because I would surely kill the person that cheated on me! Off with his head! LOL) I know that some Arwen shippers might be annoyed and unhappy with the ending but lets be assured - it IS Merlin. Angel is a main character and she WILL come back again this season. So I think we all have reason to hope that she might end up with Arthur again after things have cooled off a little (maybe in the finale, who knows?).
To end my rambling on a lighter note: I happened to notice that Morgana seems to be quite in Christmas mood. She’s always bringing gifts to everyone she meets. ^^
Guess how she reacted? She laughed her freaking ass off! I’m not kidding! She loled her way through the whole video. And the worst thing is I can’t be serious when my mom laughs. So we both kinda cracked up in front of my computer and it took us several minutes to calm down.
So today was the first day that my short film “Stop Breathing” was shown on the Munich International Festival of Filmschools and I think it went pretty great. I could see from the audience’s reactions that most of them liked it. What a relief! ^^ The interview went great even though I felt a bit akward at first to talk in English. My accent is so weird.
I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it but I own two cute little parrotlets, that I named Cas and Meg. I decided to call them like that because they bitch on each other one second and in the next they make out obscenely. LOL So considering my passion for a certain tv-show and a certain Angel & Demon that act in quite the same way I thought the names would be adequate…
But that’s not what I wanted to write about so excuse my rambling, I’ll come straight to the point:
Everyone’s reaction is shrill laughter when I mention their names… (Not because they understand the reference… that would be too much to ask unfortunately). The second reaction is “why would you call your birds like a cheeseburger?”
Yeah, you heard right. A cheeseburger.
Are you confused now? I would be if I were you! ^^
Well, I come from this curious strange little place from far far away called ‘Bavaria’. We’re like the weirdos, the gauls of Germany, because no one understands our crazy traditions or our dialect. Anyway - if you pronounce “Cas” it sounds exactly like the word “Cheese” to a Bavarian. And the way we say “Meg” actually sounds like “Mc” as in “McDonalds”. So to people who are not familiar to the most brilliant tv-show on earth it sounds like “McCheese” which would be a cheeseburger…LOL
There is a screening of my debut film on Munich International Festival of Filmschools!
I’m so excited to tell you that my debut film “Stop Breathing" is nominated at the Munich International Festival of Filmschools in the special category "Climate Clips". I still can’t believe that it made it this far but it’s in the top 3.
The film is a cute and funny short film about the climate change.
Here’s a still from the movie:
If you happen to be near Munich and are interested in watching it:
The screening is next week on Thursday 17th of November, 5 p.m. and Friday, 18th of November, 7.30 p.m and it takes place at the Filmmuseum in Munich. The movie is in English and the tickets only cost 5 EUR and it would mean so much to me.
After the screening I’m gonna give an interview (in front of all the audience btw) and I’m so excited/thrilled/happy/frightened I think I’m gonna die. I’m already so nervous that sleeping is pretty damn impossible…
On Saturday (19th October) there will be the award ceremony and the winner clip will be announced. Please keep your finger’s crossed that I’ll make it!
It’s such an incredible opportunity and I really can’t believe that this is happening. I honestly never would have guessed in my wildest dreams that something like this could ever happen to me. This is to awesome to be true and I half expect to be waking up any moment.
By the way - if you’re so awesome and come to the screening don’t hesitate to talk to me! I’ve already met a couple of YouTuber’s in real life and it’s always so amazing to get to know guys from the virtual world in reality!
Today I watched the new Steven Soderbergh movie called “Contagion”. A drama about a global outbreak of an unknown virus that’s quickly causing a pandemic.
The cast of the movie is simply incredible. The movie is not only full of Hollywood stars and academy award nominee’s and winners but also other popular actors from various tv-shows and movies. I was grinning throughout the whole movie because of all the familiar faces that kept popping up. (Especially Jennifer Ehle aka “Elisabeth Bennet” was a pleasant surprise… ^^)
In 2000 Soderbergh won an oscar for his movie “Traffic” - I loved this movie - so my expectations were ridiculously high. “Contagion” nevertheless didn’t disappoint. What impressed me the most were the multi-level plots following various different characters who have been effected by the virus. The films starts with “Day 2” and we follow Gwyneth Paltrow from the first symptoms of the virus to her sudden death. There’s the caring family father (Matt Damon), her husband who just tries to protect his teenage daughter after he lost his wife and his son to the virus. There are the CDC workers (Laurence Fishbourne & Kate Winslet) who try to find out the origins of the virus. There’s the WHO worker (Marion Cotillard), who gets kidnapped in China in order to blackmail a cure. There’s the ambitioned scientist (Jennifer Ehle) who tries to find a cure as fast as possible and infects herself with a potential vaccine. There’s the pseudo-journalist and blogger (Jude Law) who takes advantage of the whole panic that breaks out. And so on and so on.
This might seem a bit much for your normal 100 minute movie but the whole structure of the movie is (in most parts) so well-thought that you get along with all the characters really well - you feel and fear for all of them. And at any point of the movie you just keep asking yourself “is this really possible?” or “how would I react if something like this happened”? Because the scenario of the movie is - at least in my humble opinion - quite realistic. It really gets under your skin when you see how slowly and surely the population begins to panic, how people get corrupted but also how selfless other people risk there life’s to help others. The goosebump factor is very high while watching the movie!
No, this post is not about Fringe, as you might have supposed because of the title. This is about my freaking crazy life… Hehe.
Apparently I have a doppelganger in my neigbourhood! A couple of weeks ago a good friend of mine told me, that she saw a woman EXACTLY like me when she wanted to pick me up with her car. Yes, she said the person was like my clone… Same size, same figur, same age, same style, same hair… same freaking everything. When she told me I was like „Yeeeaaahh… I think you need new glasses, dear.“ I mean I’ve known my friend for more than 10 years and she should know how I look after all this time, shouldn’t she? But today something ridiculously spooky happened. I was getting out of my apartment and this huge dog jumps me. He almost peed on the street because he was so happy to see me… And then there was this woman running after him, looking at me in total confusion and then she finally says to me: „Oh I’m sorry“ and then to the dog: „No, stop it. It’s not her. She’s not your owner. It’s the wrong person.“ Okay… so if apparently even the freaking DOG of my doppelganger confuses me with her then it’s really spooky, isn’t it?
I googled Doppelganger and found this: “Doppelgängers often are perceived as a sinister form of bi-location and are regarded by some to be harbingers of bad luck. In some traditions, a doppelgänger seen by a person’s friends or relatives portends illness or danger, while seeing one’s own doppelgänger is an omen of death” Not very reassuring, isn’t it? ^^
I mean, what is this? Sorcery? A Fringe event? Am I schizo? Do I need a doctor? An exorcist? Shall I grab the rocksalt? Is she my clone, or my doppelganger from the other universe? Is this a case for the FBI? Help! I need somebody! Maybe I should consult with Walter Bishop, the Doctor, call Mulder and Scully or Buffy or Sherlock Holmes or the Scooby Doo Gang or Gandalf the Grey? And turn on the bat signal just to be sure.
I can’t tell you how much I want to meet this mysterious woman!
Hey! I just wanted to say that I am a big fan of all of your YouTube videos and was super excited to discover you had a tumblr! Your SYTYCV vids have been particularly unique and inspired. In light of that, I would like to apologise for reblogging a few of your videos straight from YouTube. From now on, I promise to do it from your blog.
Wow! Thank you so much for the compliment and amazing feedback on my videos! *blushes* I can’t tell you how utterly flattered and excited I am that you enjoy them so much. It makes my day a little bit brighter. :-)
The response here an tumblr is kinda overwhelming. I had no idea that my vids were so popular around here but I went through some tags and blogs and I find them constantly popping up somewhere so no need to apologize for spreading the word! :-)
I’m planning to blog all my new videos here so thanks in advance for reblogging!
“That awkward moment when you’re giving a colleague a ride home and your cd player jumps directly to the chorus of Nine Inch Nail’s “Closer”….”—Happened to me on Tuesday. I’m just glad the guy had a great sense of humour.
I don’t know how some of you feel about this matter but I think nothing is more humiliating than asking for autographs when you work with a (more or less) popular/famous person.
I had the pleasure to come across some popular people while working in film crews. In my last job I had the pleasure to be on the crew that shot the 3d-documentation about the austrian extreme-climbers, the Huber Brothers. They’re quite popular in Germany and when I told my family that I’ll be working with them all of them suddenly started to bombard me with the request of bringing them autographs. They didn’t seem to understand how embarrassing and absolutely unprofessional it would be for me to aks if they could sign a poster for me. Maybe I’m just chicken about it but I won’t do that. Not ever.
By the way - if you’re interested in the movie then here’s a link. If you watch till the end you’ll even see me a couple of times in the making of… (38:55 I’m the gangsta in the hoodie! 41:19 yeah, that’s my own autograph and me… LOL) :-)
And then you’re like…”How else can I write ‘Thank you’?”
Thank you :)
And at the end you realize that your replies are all boring and people must hate you for clogging up their inbox.
Same here. I mean you want to show your gratitude individually to everyone but if you get a certain amount of “similar” comments you just can’t. It’s impossible. Sometimes I think a simple “thank you” to a fantastic editing review just isn’t enough. I try my best but I know my replies suck sometimes…
